Our Team

Dustin William Banham Ph.D
Meet our CTO and vice general manager. Dr. Banham is a globally recognized expert in PEMFC technology, with over 15 years of professional experience.
To date, he has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed academic papers in high impact journals including the Nature and Science series of publications, has > 5000 citations, and holds 15 authorized patents. He has received numerous awards including the R&D100 award which is an international competition for bringing an advanced research concept from the lab to a product. Prior to coming to China, he served as PI or co-PI on several international R&D projects, and since coming to China he has been awarded four National-level projects. His primary research focuses on the design and production of fuel cell and electrolyzer MEAs as well as their components. He oversees the R&D, quality control, and production at Taiji.
Peng Ye Ph.D
Meet our senior scientist. Dr. Ye has 10 years of experience working on porous support materials, catalyst design and synthesis, as well as other related fields. She has successfully developed various electrocatalyst products for PEMFC applications.
She has 10 years of experience in electrocatalyst development for PEMFCs and is recognized as one of the experts at a globally renowned fuel cell company.
Ja Yeon Choi Ph.D
Meet our senior manager of the R&D Center. Dr. Choi has 12 years of experience in fuel cell technology research and development. At Taiji, he focuses on fuel cell catalysts and catalyst layer design, as well as MEA testing, characterization, and verification.
Dr. Choi graduated from the University of Waterloo in Canada with both a master's and a doctoral degree in chemical engineering. He has authored and co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers, with more than 3,300 citations. Dr. Choi also participated in two projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (serving as joint project manager for one) and led a national-level project.
Kyoung Jin Bai
Meet our R&D director. Kyoung Bai has over 20 years of experience in the fuel cell field and holds more than 10 patents. He is an expert in integrating new materials into advanced catalyst layer designs.
His responsibilities include MEA design, advanced research, fuel cell and electrolyzer process development, and transferring process methods to production.

Our Manufacturig Capability

PRODUCTION
Taiji's first MEA manufacturing line is fully operational at our production base, with an annual capacity of 1 million MEAs (equivalent to supporting the assembly of approximately 2,000 vehicles). Our products have been deployed in small batches in customer fuel cell engines, with key metrics like performance and durability meeting or surpassing international standards. Additionally, our products have been certified by the Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.
